Introduction of Metering cartridge 

The metering cartridge is the main section of the select tester valve which is used for the drill stem testing operation in oil and gas well. The select tester valve is designed with the capabilities of taking multiple downhole closures where pipe manipulation is restricted and a full opening string is desired. 

The metering cartridge used in the Select Tester Valve is different from the one used in the LPR-N tester valve.  The metering rate for this cartridge can be varied by changing the type of plugs installed in the OD of the metering cartridge housing. This feature will allow the tool to operate over a wider range of bottom hole conditions without disassembling the tool and changing the metering cartridge. The standard metering cartridge operating pressure range is 2 ksi to 14 ksi hydrostatic pressure.
